About China Fan Museum
The Chinese Fan Museum is a national-level thematic museum established by the Hangzhou Municipal Government in 2009 at No. 450 Xiaohe Road. Together with the Hangzhou Arts and Crafts Museum, the Chinese Knife and Scissors Museum, the Chinese Umbrella Museum, and the Handicraft Living Exhibition Hall, it constitutes the Qiaoxi Historical and Cultural District Museum Community. The exhibition hall was renovated from an old industrial factory, with a total construction area of 2,623 square meters. With the theme of fan art, the museum has four major exhibition units: "The Origin and History of Chinese Fans", "Chinese Fan Culture", "Chinese Fan Industry" and "Exquisite Fan Art", covering the evolution of fan shape, technology and connection with social life. The history of Chinese fans can be traced back to the Wuming fan during the Yu and Shun period.
