About Former Kwantung Prefectural Office
The former site of Guandong State Office, also known as the former site of Russia's Lushun City Hotel and the former site of Japan's Kanto Governor's Palace, is located at No. 59 Youyi Road, Lushunkou District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. It was built in the 26th year of Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1900). The former site of the Kanto State Office was originally a "municipal hotel" built by Tsarist Russia. The main building at the old site is a two-story brick and stone European-style building, facing south, with a construction area of about 6,057 square meters, and the courtyard covers an area of about 26,500 square meters. The old site faces south from the north, with two floors above ground and one semi-underground floor. It has a rectangular plan, with a large area of the facade protruding from the center.
