About Kaifeng Museum
Kaifeng Municipal Museum is located on the Sixth Street of Zhengkai Avenue, Kaifeng City, Henan Province, adjacent to the Sino-Italian Lake to the east. It is a local comprehensive museum integrating cultural relic collection, cultural relic protection, scientific research, display and exhibition, publicity and education. It is a unit of the Kaifeng Municipal Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau. Kaifeng Municipal Museum was established on March 3, 1962. Its original location is located on Sansheng Street. It was built on the original site of the Henan Provincial Museum after it moved to Zhengzhou. In 1986, a new museum was expanded at the former site of the Municipal People's Armed Forces Department on the south bank of Baogong Lake. It was completed and officially opened to the outside world in September 1988.
