About Bao Zheng's Memorial Hall

The Bao Gong Temple was restored and rebuilt to commemorate Bao Zheng, a renowned ancient Chinese official and political reformer. Located on the western shore of Bao Gong Lake in Kaifeng City, Henan Province, it is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. The temple was reconstructed in 1984 and comprises a main exhibition area, a garden scenic area, and a functional service area. The main exhibition area houses a bronze statue of Bao Zheng, a bronze guillotine, wax statues of Bao Zheng’s courtroom decisions, the “Famous Names Inscription Stele of Kaifeng Prefecture,” and other exhibits. Within the garden, the surviving relic from the Northern Song Dynasty—the “Famous Names Inscription Stele of Kaifeng Prefecture”—still exists; the stele bears deep indentations caused by long-term touch by visitors.
