About Shanxi-Shaanxi-Gansu Guild Hall

Shanxi-Gan Guild Hall is located on the north side of Xufu Street, Longting District, Kaifeng City, Henan Province. It was built in the 41st year of Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1776) by wealthy businessmen from Shanxi, Shaanxi and Gansu provinces who lived in Kaifeng. It was built on the site of Xu Da, the founding father of the Ming Dynasty, Zhongshan King. It was originally named Shanxi Guild Hall. In the 30th year of Qianlong's reign (1765), it was renamed Shanshan-Shaanxi Guildhall. The building has a courtyard-style layout with an area of 3870.29 square meters. The main building is placed on the central axis, with the screen wall, theater tower, archway, and main hall from south to north. The auxiliary buildings are located on the east and west sides, including left and right gates, hanging flower gates, bell towers, drum towers, wing rooms, and east-west courtyards.
