About Liang Ancestral Hall
The Leung Clan Ancestral Hall is located in Yuangang Village, Pat Heung, New Territories, Hong Kong. It was built by the Leung clan about 200 years ago. It is a two-entry ancestral hall building in the Qing Dynasty. It was listed as a statutory monument (historic building) in Hong Kong on January 12, 2007. The building is owned by descendants of Liang Dacheng who settled in Yuangang Village. The ancestors of the Leung family were originally from Dongguan, Guangdong. During the 17th and 18th centuries, their twelfth generation ancestor Leung Guochu brought his clan members to the New Territories. His son Leung Dacheng settled in Pat Heung, Yuen Long and established Yuangang Village. The name of the village comes from the original round hill behind the village, which was originally called "Yuangang". Later, it was renamed "Yuangang" because the hill was moved flat.
