About Risee Canyon Waterfall Scenic Area
The Risee Canyon Waterfall Scenic Area is located in Zishan Village, Rixi Township, Jin’an District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, along County Road 193. Covering an area of over 12,000 mu, it is approximately 45 kilometers from downtown Fuzhou and is the largest pristine scenic area in Fuzhou that has been developed as a single entity. On January 29, 2021, the scenic area was simultaneously designated as a National 3A Tourist Attraction alongside the Emperor’s Cave Scenic Area, and it is part of Shoushan National Mine Park, as well as one of Fujian Province’s key natural reserves. The scenic area was formed by the erosion of Cretaceous volcanic rocks by flowing water, resulting in a V-shaped, deeply carved canyon with 23 waterfall clusters, the tallest drop of which reaches 76 meters, and a forest coverage rate of around 96%.
