About Waterside Pavilion Stage

Waterside Pavilion Stage is located at No. 4, Yijinfang, Sanfangqixiang Historical and Cultural District, Fuzhou. It was built during the Wanli Period of the Ming Dynasty (1573-1620). It was originally the residence of the Zheng family and was owned by the Sun Yimou family during the Daoguang Period of the Qing Dynasty. The building complex covers a total area of 2,675 square meters and consists of three parts: the main courtyard, the auxiliary courtyard and the flower hall garden. The flower hall garden contains the only remaining water pavilion stage in Fuzhou City. The stage covers an area of 30 square meters. It faces south and faces north. It adopts a nine-ridge hilltop structure. The caisson is carved with crane and bat patterns. It faces water on three sides and faces the double-story pavilion. It has both acoustic and aesthetic functions.
