About Diaoyu Islands
Diaoyu Island Dao), also known as Diaoyutai, Diaoyu Island and Diaoyu Mountain, is an inherent archipelago in the East China Sea of the People's Republic of China. It consists of Diaoyu Island and its affiliated islands. It is located in the northeast of Taiwan Island, China and is an affiliated island of Taiwan Island. It is between 25°40′~26°00′ north latitude and 123°20′~124°40′ east longitude. The number of islands announced in March 2012 was 71, with a total area of about 5.69 square kilometers. The Diaoyu Islands cover an area of approximately 3.91 square kilometers. Diaoyu Island is about 356 kilometers away from Wenzhou City, about 385 kilometers away from Fuzhou City, and about 190 kilometers away from Keelung City. The Diaoyu Islands belong to erosion-denuded low hills and steep terrain, with the ridgeline of the central mountain range running east-west.
