About Wenchang Pavilion
Wenchang Pavilion, also known as Wenchang Tower and Yangzhou Wenchang Pavilion, is a Ming Dynasty building with Kuixing Tower architectural style. It is located at the intersection of Wenchang Middle Road and Wenhe North Road, Guangling District, Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, covering an area of 160 square meters. The pavilion is about 24.25 meters high, with three floors and triple eaves, a dome, a roof tile cover, and a gourd on top. The pavilion is an octagonal three-level brick and wood structure. The bottom floor is connected to the street by arches on all sides. The second and third floors are equipped with wooden barrel fan windows. The overall shape is similar to the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. In the ninth year of Hongzhi in the Ming Dynasty (1496), the Wenjin Bridge was built directly to the government school.
