About Fall
Waterfall, also known as falling water in geology, is a water landscape that falls vertically when a river flows through faults, cliffs and other areas. It is formed by differences in rock types, fault movement or lava obstruction, and has temporary characteristics. Its regression model is mainly traceback erosion and river bed incision. Niagara Falls once retreated by an average of 1.7 meters per year due to shale erosion and is expected to disappear in 50,000 years. Artificial intervention can slow down the erosion process. Geological movements will continue to create new waterfalls.
