About Dahan Strongpoint
The Dahan stronghold is located on the headland of Tieban Coastline in Renai Village, Nangan Township, Matsu, adjacent to the Beihai Tunnel. It was originally a military defense project. The stronghold was built in 1976 and was manually excavated by the Army's infantry troops. The main body is a three-story tunnel structure with a total length of 230 meters. The lower level is equipped with four 90mm anti-aircraft gun positions and machine gun nozzles. The upper level is the company headquarters, and the second level is the living area. In 2003, it was handed over to the Matsu Scenic Area Management Office for renovation, and it was officially opened as a tourist attraction in February 2007. In the early days, the stronghold was a living and defense space for the garrison. It was gradually transformed after the termination of field administration in 1992.
