About frog stone
Frog Rock is a landscape stone located on the beach near Xiaowan in the Kenting Forest Recreation Area in Taiwan. Viewed from the sea view building in the area, it looks like a frog about to jump into the sea. It is named after its lifelike shape. The stone is 61 meters high. Like Dajianshan, it is an exotic rock entrained in the Kenting mudstone layer. Because the rock is harder than mudstone, it has emerged as an independent rock block after long-term erosion. There are sea erosion concave walls, corals, shell fossils and other geological landscapes around it. Frog Rock has been declared prohibited from climbing. A large number of Begonia truncatula vegetation grows on the coast around Frog Rock, providing a habitat for the aconite, a unique species of Taiwanese bird. You can overlook the Taiwan Strait, Bashi Channel and the Pacific Ocean from the Frog Rock Park Waterfront Trail.
