About Jiyan Scenic Area
Jiyan (also known as Jiyan and Feiyan) is a provincial scenic spot located in Baiyun Township, Yongtai County, Fujian Province. The main peak, Tortoiseshell Mountain, is 1,237 meters above sea level (some say 1,238 meters), facing Baiyan Mountain and other scenic spots. Its name comes from the legend that the princess of the Five Dynasties of Fujian was buried here. There is also an allusion that the immortal made elixirs and ordered five chickens to guard it. In addition, because the strange peaks and rocks seemed to fly from the sky, it was originally called Feiyan. The scenic area is characterized by green peaks and mist-shrouded mountains, with more than 20 natural wonders such as single-plank bridges and Luohan Rocks, and geological landscapes such as Hanging Bell Rocks have unique features. The highest "tile" is a huge stone 21 meters long and 15 meters wide.
