About Tullin
The soil forest is a landform formed by the loose accumulation of clay, sand, and gravel from the Quaternary lake and river facies, which is eroded and washed away by seasonal rain in a dry climate environment. The deposits are gentle in appearance, with a protective layer formed by the weathering of the iron cement, developing a shape like a tower or a column. They are distributed in Yuanmou, Yunnan, Xichang, Sichuan, Tianshui, Gansu, and Datong, Shanxi. The soil forest in the Yuanmou Basin in Yunnan has a total area of 42.9 square kilometers, including conical columnar, castle-shaped and other types. The strata are composed of semi-cemented fluvial and lacustrine sediments. The development process ranges from the rilly soil bud type in the early stage to the residual columnar type in the old stage.
