About Pingxingguan
Pingxingguan is located at the junction of Fanzhi County and Lingqiu County in Shanxi Province. It has been a garrison place for a long time in history and has been known as Pingxingzhai, Pingxing Town, Pingxingling Pass and Pingxing Pass. During the construction of the Great Wall in the Ming Dynasty, pass and pass buildings were built, making it one of the eighteen passes of Yanmen. Guanmen (pass) is located on Pingxingling (Guanling) in Fanzhi County, three miles southwest of the pass. Pingxingguan Castle is built there. This pass connects Yanmen Pass and Zijin Pass and has been an important border defense town in the past dynasties. Controlling Taihang in the east and Yandai in the west, it is a battleground for military strategists from ancient to modern times.
