About Xiaojinshan
Xiaojinshan, formerly known as Changchun Ridge, is located in the Slender West Lake Scenic Area in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It is one of the 24 scenic spots in Slender West Lake and is an artificial island surrounded by water. The island was built in the middle of the Qing Dynasty (1757) and was presided over by the salt merchant Cheng Zhiquan. It was formed by mounds of earth when excavating the Lotus Ridge New River to welcome the emperor. According to legend, during the process of mounding the island, Emperor Guandi told him in a dream how to "drive plum blossom piles". Plum blossoms are planted all over the island, and the fragrance of plum blossoms overflows in winter, so it is also called "Meiling with deep spring". The wind pavilion on the top of the mountain is the commanding height of Slender West Lake.
