About Princess Tomb
Princess Tomb is located outside Fuxingmen in Beijing. It is now the transfer station and overpass of Beijing Metro Line 1 and Line 10. Its name comes from the mausoleum where the two princesses of Emperor Jiaqing of the Qing Dynasty were buried together. The owners of the tomb are Princess Zhuang Jing Heshuo (1781-1811) and Princess Zhuang Jing Gu Lun (1784-1811). The former is the daughter of Concubine Heyu and married to the Mongolian King Horqin; the latter is the legitimate daughter of Queen Xiao Shurui and married to the King of the Tumote tribe. Because the ancestral system of the Qing Dynasty stipulated that the princess was not allowed to enter the imperial mausoleum or the husband's family cemetery, and the two died in the same year, they were buried together here. The cemetery was originally called Wangzuo Village.
