About Pilu Temple

Pilu Temple, also known as Pilu Temple, is located in the east of Shangjing Village, Dubei Street, Xinhua District, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. It was first built in the Tianbao period of the Tang Dynasty (742~755). It was later repaired by the Song, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, including large-scale reconstruction from the eighth year of Hongzhi in the Ming Dynasty to the fourteenth year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1495~1535). The temple covers an area of 18,000 square meters and has a construction area of 400 square meters. It is named after the main hall of the temple that enshrines Vairocana Buddha. In 1979, a white marble statue from the Tang Dynasty was discovered in the Xumizuo of Vairocana Buddha, providing evidence that it was built in the Tang Dynasty.
