About Chongbenmen
Chongben Gate is the west gate of Tianchang County. It is one of the four city gates built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is located at the west gate of Tianchang Ancient City. The original city walls and gates have been completely destroyed by war. The remains of the city gate wall were discovered during moat dredging in 2017. Subsequently, rescue archaeological excavations were conducted from September to November of the same year, and bricks with inscriptions were unearthed. Chongbenmen was rebuilt locally on the site according to its historical original appearance. The existing ruins of the ancient city wall are about 17.65 meters long and 12.5 meters wide, located about 20 meters east of the Tianchang Ximen Bridge.
