About Xuanyuan Temple

Xuanyuan Temple, also known as Huangdi Temple, is a scenic spot in Huangling County, Yan'an City. It faces south and was first built in the Han Dynasty. It covers an area of about 9.33 hectares. The temple is 140 meters long and 84 meters wide. The main buildings include the temple gate, Chengxin Pavilion, Stele Pavilion and the Humanities First Ancestor Hall. There are 16 ancient cypresses in the courtyard, and the most precious ones are undoubtedly the "Cypress Planted by the Yellow Emperor's Hands" and the "Cypresses Hanging by the Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty". The temple site is located at the foot of Qiaoshan Mountain. In the Tang Dynasty, sacrificial activities were officially listed as national sacrifices, and the reconstruction and expansion of the Huangdi Mausoleum Temple began.
