About Shijiazhuang Pilu Temple Museum
Shijiazhuang Pilu Temple Museum is located in the east of Shangjing Village, Dubei Street, Xinhua District, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. It was first built in the Tianbao period of the Tang Dynasty (742-756), and was repaired in the Song, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. The temple faces north and faces south. There are existing Ming Dynasty buildings such as Sakyamuni Hall and Pilu Hall. More than 200 square meters of Ming Dynasty water and land dojo murals are preserved in the two halls. The murals in Pilu Hall were painted from the eighth year of Hongzhi (1495) to the fourteenth year of Jiajing (1535) in the Ming Dynasty. They are arranged in three layers: upper, middle and lower. They include more than 500 figures from Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. They adopt the technique of meticulous brushwork, heavy coloring and gold-leafing techniques.
