About Taiyuan Dialect Museum
The Taiyuan Dialect Museum is an exhibition hall for the results of the Taiyuan Dialect City Sound Collection and Recording Project led by the Taiyuan Cultural Center. There are Taiyuan Dialect Museum and Taiyuan Dialect Museum Ancient County Branch. The Taiyuan Dialect City Sound Collection and Recording Project was launched in 2018 and lasted for 3 years. Taiyuan Dialect was systematically collected at 14 collection points in the city. After all the dialect collection work has been completed, the audio and video materials in the library will be organized, and 8 books with more than 240,000 words will be published. In December 2025, as the home teaching activity of the eighth lecture of "Cultural Travel in China", the cumulative number of viewers exceeded 190,000, and relevant cases have been applied for the UNESCO Teaching Competition.
