About Grand View Pavilion
The old site of Daguanting is located in the middle section of Daguanting Street in Anqing City (today's No. 56 Daguanting Street). It is located on a mountain, with Dalong Mountain in the back and the Yangtze River in front. It has a broad realm and a majestic atmosphere. It was built in the fourth year of Jiajing reign of Emperor Shizong of the Ming Dynasty (AD 1525). It was built by Lu Cong, the then prefect of Anqing, in memory of Yu Que, a famous minister in the late Yuan Dynasty, and his Dengting Pavilion. The history of Daguanting began in the Eastern Han Dynasty and flourished in the Tang and Song Dynasties. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was known as the "Three Towers of the Yangtze River" together with Wuchang Yellow Crane Tower and Jiangzhou Yu Tower.
