About Qian'ao'an

Qian'ao Temple, also known as Shitan Temple, is located on the bank of Qian'ao Bay, Nan'ao County, Shantou City, Guangdong Province. It was built in the fourth year of Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1878) with donations from Wu Zhonghe and others. It was named after the stone pool in front of the temple. It was rebuilt by monk Shi Chuncan in 1926 and was inhabited by nuns from 1946 onwards. The temple is built on the mountain and can be reached by climbing through winding paths on both sides of the island ring road. The existing natural stone chamber "Dolomite" is located about 30 meters down the road from the temple area. On the top of the door is a stone inscription inscribed by Master Shi Dingzhi, "The stone was mended by Nuwa, and the clouds flew from the spiritual vulture." There are natural landscapes such as acacia flowers and linden trees in the surrounding area.
