About South Australia General Military Mansion
Nan'ao General Military Mansion, whose full name is "Fujian, Guangdong and Nan'ao General Town Mansion", is the only island general military mansion in the country and is located in Shen'ao Town, Nan'ao County, Shantou City, Guangdong Province. This mansion was the government office of the Nan'ao General Army during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the third year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1575), a petition was made to establish "Fujian and Guangdong Nan'ao Town" and appoint a deputy chief soldier. In the fourth year of Wanli (1576), the second deputy general Yan Jifang began to build the general military mansion. After Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty regained Taiwan, the Nan'ao General Army took turns participating in the defense of Taiwan, Penghu, and Tamsui in batches. A total of 177 generals and deputy generals were stationed in the Ming and Qing dynasties.
