About Imperial Palace of Emperor Chenwu

The Forbidden City of Emperor Chenwu is located in Xiaruosi Township, Changxing County, Huzhou, Zhejiang Province (now part of the Economic Development Zone, southeast of the intersection of Changxing Avenue and County Qiandong Street). It is the birthplace and former residence of Chen Baxian (r. 557-559), the founding emperor of the Southern Chen Dynasty. It covers a total area of 126 acres and a construction area of 10,361 square meters. The scenic spot consists of three parts: Emperor Chen Wudi's Forbidden City Ruins Park, Former Residence Exhibition Hall and Tianju Temple. The existing buildings were rebuilt in 1994. The plaque was inscribed by Chen Lifu and includes scenic spots such as the Holy Well and Chen Huang Pagoda. This place was originally the former residence of Chen Baxian.
