About Shantou General Post Office Building
Shantou General Post Office Building, commonly known as "Old Anping Post and Telecommunications Office" or "Anping Post Office", its foreign name is Shantou post office building, located at No. 24 Waima Road, Jinping District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province. The building was completed in 1922, covering an area of 460 square meters and a construction area of 828 square meters. It is a two-story European-style building with a stone, steel and cement structure. It faces the northeast and southwest, and has an L-shaped plane. It is one of the two most complete European-style postal buildings in Guangdong. The building adopts a symmetrical three-section facade and eight Greek-style large round columns. It has existing original components such as wooden shutters, Roman columns, and ground glass. Its predecessor was the government-run post office established in 1897.
