About Mother's Palace Stage
The Lao Ma Palace Stage is located at No. 1 Shengping Road, Jinping District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province. It was built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty (1760-1820). It was originally an open-air stage and trade market opposite the Lao Ma Palace in Shantou, and was historically known as "Ma Palace Front". The building was renovated into the Shantou First Market (Shengping Market) in 1930. After liberation, it was used as a farmer's market, commodity exchange and other places.
