About Shantou Chaoyang District Museum
Shantou Chaoyang District Museum is located at No. 87, Zhonghua Road, Wenguang Street, Chaoyang District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province. It covers an area of about 2,800 square meters and a building area of about 4,500 square meters. It is a local comprehensive museum. It was established in May 1982 as a spin-off from the Chaoyang Cultural Center and was initially located in the Qigong Temple under the Wenguang Tower. The reconstruction project was initiated in October 2012, the main project was completed in August 2014, and the new museum was built in December of the same year. The new museum has a large-scale multi-functional comprehensive exhibition hall, a cultural relics exhibition hall of past dynasties, an intangible cultural heritage exhibition hall, etc. The functions of the floors cover cultural relics exhibition, restoration, warehouse and academic research.
