About Zhoushan Museum
Zhoushan Museum, a national first-class museum located in Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, is a comprehensive museum integrating collection, protection, research, display and education. The museum opened in October 1986. In the early 1990s, in order to implement religious policies, Zuyin Temple was returned to the Buddhist Association, and the Zhoushan Museum was closed. In 1995, the Zhoushan Museum was rebuilt, completed in 1998, and opened to the public in January 2000. In June 2014, the old Zhoushan Museum closed. On December 27, 2014, the new Zhoushan Museum opened for trial operation. The museum is located in the Zhoushan Ocean Culture and Art Center on the inner side of Haitian Avenue in Zhoushan City. The Zhoushan Museum has a construction area of 14,100 square meters.
