About Guanyin Cultural Park
Guanyin Cultural Park is located in the northern part of Zhujiajian Island, Pudong District, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province. It is one of the six major scenic areas of Zhujiajian and faces Mount Putuoshan across the sea. The park’s core attraction is a large-scale Guanyin statue painted on Qianzhang Cliff, which stands 114.9 meters tall. The mural spans 69 meters in height and 30 meters in width, covering an area of 2,000 square meters. Utilizing fluorocarbon paint technology for corrosion protection, it is renowned as the “Mogao Caves on the Sea.” Historically, this site was once a place where temples were built on Mount Putuoshan; during the Kangxi to Daoguang periods of the Qing Dynasty, monks from Mount Putuoshan were granted permission by the imperial court to reclaim the land and construct temples here.
