About Pantuo Rock
Pantuo Stone is a natural stacked stone landscape located on the top of Meicen Peak in Xitian Scenic Area, Putuo Mountain, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province. It is composed of two upper and lower stones. The base stone "pan" is more than 20 meters wide in circumference, and the top stone "tuo" is nearly 7 meters wide. The gap between the two stones is like a line but they support each other firmly, forming a "suspended hanging" wonder. Its unique mechanical structure makes it difficult to withstand typhoons and is known as "the best stone in the world". The "Panda Sunset" formed at sunset is one of the twelve scenic spots in Mount Putuo. The stone still retains the inscription "Panda Stone" written in regular script by Hou Jigao, an anti-Japanese general of the Ming Dynasty. The word "stone" was added a little more, and legend has it that this stone was used to stabilize it.
