About Furong Town,Xiangxi 24
The Furong Town Scenic Area in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, commonly referred to as the Furong Town Scenic Area, is a tourist attraction located within the borders of Furong Town, Yongshun County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan Province. Originally known as Wangcun, Furong Town is an ancient town with a history spanning more than 2,000 years—the former capital of the Xi Zhou Tujia Tusi Dynasty—and the birthplace of the Tusi Dynasty’s glorious 818-year history. Due to a waterfall that runs through the town, it is also known as the “thousand-year-old town hanging above the waterfall.” Wangcun is situated along the You River, connecting to Sichuan and Hubei to the north and leading to Beijing to the south; since ancient times, it has been a major trading hub, bustling with activity.
