About Tianwu Platform (Heaven Platform)
Tianwen Terrace is a landscape located on the top of Fenghuang Mountain in Taojiang County, Hunan Province. It is located at the intersection of Taohua River and Zijiang River. According to legend, it was the place where Qu Yuan composed "Tianwen" when he was exiled to Jiangnan during the Warring States Period. Its name comes from the legend that Qu Yuan asked more than a hundred questions here to express his feelings. Documents such as "Yiyang County Chronicle" of the Qing Dynasty recorded that this place was the birthplace of "Tianwen". On the cliff of Fenghuang Mountain, there are three words "Tianwentai" inscribed by today's people. The Tianwen Pavilion was once built here to commemorate Qu Yuan. The original painted sculptures, stone carvings and other cultural relics in the pavilion were later destroyed by fire during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty.
